Partiquin
This is the Project Started by Mary-Margaret Conley in 2018 , joined by Stephanie Hughes in 2020 , Elizabeth Yardley Kangas came on board in 2023 and a few others are helping with . , Partiquin Composites were bred up from a Japanese Harlequin colored TAMUKc Doe bred to a New Zealand red, then crossed back to a New Zealand broken Black.
Non-physical Traits
non-physical traits that are selected are inquisitive, friendy, happy rabbits, with great mothering ability,
physical traits
Physical Traits include Heat and cold tolerance, they have been thriving and doing binkies from temps as low as 0 deg up to 100. They tend to slightly larger ears and can have a little longer should then a new Zealand typically 3-4 inches in proportion and they should be Egg shaped when viewed from above , vs we like our newzealand around 2.5-3", most have larger litter like Harlequins .
currently as of 2023 they are still new Zealand sized(9-12 lb) but Mary Conley has had up to 12lbs, slowly working them up to 16lbs, but has been balancing type and color so as to not lose commercial type.
Currently Mary has litters hitting 2.lb 10oz at 5 weeks . Goal is 3.5 - 5 lb by 8 weeks, and hoping to move those goals up as size is increased, I have a Flemish cross doe who will be incorporated shortly and I have been seeking a shorter shoulder giant chin or nicely typed extra large line to incorporate.
