Preserving Rabbit Feet

The following are two basic methods for preserving animal feet. Both result in mummified feet suitable for display or study.

Method 1: Isopropyl Alcohol Only

  1. Take the feet.
  2. Submerge them in **isopropyl alcohol** for at least 3 days.
  3. Remove the feet and shape them as desired.
  4. Allow to **air dry** in a cool, dry place.
  5. Once dry, the feet are fully mummified.

Method 2: Isopropyl Alcohol + Borax

  1. Take the feet.
  2. Submerge them in **isopropyl alcohol** for at least 3 days.
  3. Remove the feet and soak in a **Borax solution** (2 parts Borax, 1 part water) overnight.
  4. Remove the feet and shape them as desired.
  5. Allow to **air dry** in a cool, dry place.
  6. Once dry, the feet are fully mummified.
