History of Cuniculture

The term cuniculture comes from the romans. They kept rabbits in cunicularium... They're always depicted among the food animals

Historical Rabbit Diets included :

fed them figs and grapes to get them up to weight, High carb foods that they had available, The grapes haven't changed hardly at all.  most current  fruits and veg we have today, is breed to be lower in fiber and higher in sugar then  what we are supposed to be eating.

Historically Roman started using cage system to get rabbit off the ground because :

Coccidia is host specific, but will adapt itself to a new host...hence the time it takes for it show up We've been telling folks to get your rabbits off the ground.... Coccidia, worms, rhdv, mites, and the list goes on. Even the Romans ended up building off the ground hutches for rabbits.
